This week at the Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge we are having some good bands and good food as we round out the year and prepare for an exciting New Years Eve bash as we bid 2014 farewell and welcome 2015 in with a bang.

The foodie burger of the week is a mushroom, pickled onion and swiss burger with white truffle aïoli and watercress. Our flatbread of the week is a smoked chicken (or tofu) flatbread with red pepper pesto and goat cheese.

Some of our small plate specials this week are:  Korean style lettuce wraps (Ssambap) with bistro filet (or tofu) and chile sauce; Patron and lime marinated bistro filet tacos with serrano pico de gallo and guacamole; and a red beet and cabbage borscht soup.

For our Chef’s dinner special we’ll be serving up sesame crusted ahi tuna steaks with sambal ginger cream; a sweet and sour Bangkok-style tofu (or chicken) with chiles; and grilled Virginia smoked ham steaks with red eye gravy, black eyed pea tasso succotash and garlic mashed potatoes.
